What you should know about Marketing Management N4-N6

Marketing Management forms one of the core areas of any successful business or company. Having appropriate and effective marketing strategies, campaigns and policies will help the brand awareness and overall image of a business or company grow. Marketing Management revolves around the understanding of consumer behaviours and trends. A marketing qualification will open many doors for you in your career as it is a key function for most companies. The purpose of marketing is to identify and satisfy customer needs. It consists of tasks and decisions aimed at distributing goods and services to consumers so that the objectives of the business, consumer and society are achieved. Each N-Level in Marketing Management N4-N6 takes a minimum of 6 months (Semester) to complete. A student in the possession of Grade12 or equivalent is admitted into N4. One can proceed to the next level only when the previous level has been successfully completed with minimum of 4 subjects. On successful completion of each level the candidate will be issued with a National Certificate by The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET), Quality assured by The Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO). It is recommended that students enrolling on the National N4 Certificate programme complete the N5 and N6 as well as the 18-month or 2000 hours of suitable workplace experiential training in order to qualify for the National Diploma. 

The NATED Business/General Studies N4-N6 qualification is designed to provide the theoretical component in order for you to attain a National Diploma in Marketing Management. The practical component comprises of a minimum of 18 months (2000 national working hours) relevant work experience.

The Department of Higher Education will issue you with a National Certificate once you have passed each level with a minimum of 4 subjects eg. N4, N5, N6.

Minimum Admission Requirements

Grade 11 or 12 or equivalent qualification

NOTEProceed to next level only when the previous level has been successfully completed i.e. N4 for N5, N5 for N6.
